Day pass and monthly prices, hours, classes and recovery for the most popular gyms around Sukhumvit, Thonglor, Silom, Ploenchit and Ratchada.
Which gym in Bangkok?
Pick the gym you can walk to, or reach easily on the BTS or MRT. A short trip across Bangkok can take 40 minutes in evening traffic, so a gym near your bed is worth more than a better one across town. Sukhumvit between Asok and Phrom Phong has the most gyms on this page, Thonglor and Ekkamai have the boutique studios and recovery clubs, Silom and Sathorn have several 24-hour gyms, and you will find Muay Thai gyms in all of these areas.
Most independent gyms publish their rates: a day pass and a monthly price you can pay month to month. Some chains do too: Jetts and Fitness24Seven both sell a monthly membership with no long-term contract. Others quote you at the club, so ask about the joining fee and how long you are tied in. The prices below come from each gym's own website, booking page or price list, in baht.

Bangkok has Muay Thai gyms at every level, from class studios above a mall in Ekkamai to the fighter gyms out in Lat Phrao. Almost all of them take beginners, and the first session usually includes gloves and wraps.
Price by the session rather than the month. A group class costs about 500 to 600 baht, the same as a gym day pass, and a private session with a trainer is two to three times that. Buying a pack of five or ten brings the per-class price down by 10 to 25 percent. A month of daily classes costs 4,700 to 8,000 at the gyms that sell one.
Two practical points. Many fight gyms train under a roof with fans rather than air-con, so a 3pm session in April is a different sport from a 9am one. And some gyms sell longer packages with the documents you need for a DTV visa application, which is worth asking about if you plan to stay months rather than weeks.
This is one of the main areas visitors stay in, and it has the widest mix. Arena Bangkok runs CrossFit and Hyrox in a warehouse near Makkasan, The Track and UnReal cover plain weights, and three Muay Thai gyms are within a few sois of each other: Watchara off Sukhumvit 1, Krudam at Soi 36 and WIT at Soi 39. The Qlub, on the eighth floor of the SILQ hotel on Sukhumvit 24, is the expensive end.

Day pass, weekly pass or membership?
What you pay depends on whether anyone is coaching you. A plain weights floor costs 300 to 500 baht a day and 1,300 to 2,500 a month. A CrossFit box, a Muay Thai gym or a Thonglor studio costs 600 to 1,600 a day and 4,500 to 10,000 a month, and plenty of gyms are in between. Check what a day buys as well: at a chain it is the whole club, at a fight gym it is one class. Decide which of the two you want before you compare prices, then check what a month actually includes: at a fight gym it buys classes, at a weights gym it buys the floor and nothing else. The chains are the third case, with a joining fee on top and the cheap headline rate tied to a 12-month contract.
For drop-ins, check ClassPass before you pay at the desk. A ClassPass visit usually costs less than the gym's own day pass, new members often get a trial offer, and 28 of the gyms on this page are on it (see which).
At the typical prices above, a month costs as much as 6 day passes (฿4,700 against ฿790 a visit).
Train more often than that in a month and the membership is cheaper.
A weekly pass (฿1,850) is cheaper than day passes once you train 3 or more times that week.
Can you use ClassPass in Bangkok?
Yes. ClassPass works in Bangkok and covers more studios here than in most of Southeast Asia, with the heaviest coverage around Sukhumvit, Thonglor and Silom. A listing doesn't always cover everything the gym offers: some gyms offer only open gym time on ClassPass, others only certain classes, and some leave out the recovery area. It is also a cheap way to try a few gyms before you commit to one.
Bangkok is hot all year. Highs are around 32°C (90°F) most months and above 35°C (95°F) from March to May, and the humidity barely drops. Indoors this hardly matters, since nearly every gym here is air-conditioned.
Where it does matter is Muay Thai. Plenty of the fight gyms train under a roof with fans rather than air-con, and an afternoon session in April is brutal if you have just flown in. Take the morning class for your first few days and drink more than you do at home. The heat can make your first few sessions feel harder than you expect.
How we chose these gyms
We searched Google Maps for gyms, fitness centers, CrossFit boxes and Muay Thai gyms across 26 areas of Bangkok and kept every result with at least 50 reviews inside the areas visitors stay in. Big chains are capped at two branches each so the page does not turn into a branch directory, and court-rental clubs and hospital wellness centers are left out. A well-known gym stays on this page even when it publishes almost nothing, because leaving it out would be the bigger gap; its card says what is missing. No gym paid to be listed, and the order follows Google review count.
Prices, classes and facilities come from each gym's own website, booking page, price image or Instagram, never from listing sites, and each card shows the month we checked them. Opening hours come from the same sources where a gym publishes them, and otherwise from the gym's Google listing, which is what most Bangkok gyms keep current. Where something isn't published anywhere, the card says so rather than guessing. Several Bangkok chains publish no rate at all and quote you at the desk, which is why their monthly column is empty. Gyms change prices without notice, so check before you pay. For reviews, each card links to the gym on Google Maps.
The typical prices at the top of the page are the median across the gyms that publish each price, using the cheapest day pass and the cheapest monthly option each one publishes. Almost every gym charges in baht; converted amounts use today's mid-market rate.

Which area of Bangkok is best for gyms?
Sukhumvit between Asok and Phrom Phong, because it has the most choice within a short walk of the BTS. Thonglor is the best for boutique studios and recovery, Silom and Sathorn for 24-hour chains, and Ratchada and Lat Phrao for cheap neighborhood gyms.
Can I train Muay Thai in Bangkok as a beginner?
Yes. Most gyms on this page run beginner group classes, and the price usually includes gloves and wraps for your first sessions. A group class costs about the same as a gym day pass, and a private session with a trainer costs two to three times that. Some gyms sell longer training packages and provide the documents you need to apply for a DTV visa, though the Thai authorities decide whether you get one.
Do I need to book a gym in Bangkok in advance?
Not for open gym time: you can walk in and pay at the desk, though some gyms keep the floor for classes at busy hours. Classes are different. Reformer, CrossFit and Muay Thai classes fill up, so book through the gym's app or ClassPass a day or two ahead.
Is a gym missing, or is something out of date?
Tell us. Send us a message with the gym's name, where it is and its prices or opening hours, and we'll check it and add it. The same goes for new prices or a gym that has closed. If you have photos of the gym we can use, add a link to those too.
